🎙️ EXCLUSIVE: Vertical Aerospace Interview — Direct from RIAT

This week, we’re proud to bring you something truly special — an exclusive live interview with Vertical Aerospace, filmed on location at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT). Our very own Vaz was on the ground, meeting the Vertical team in person to deliver an in-depth, on-camera conversation about the VX4 aircraft, its test program, and what’s ahead for the company.

This isn’t just any interview. It’s a first for our channel — recorded fully outside the studio — and it’s already being recognized as one of the most comprehensive and detailed updates on Vertical Aerospace’s aircraft VX4 available in the media space today. From production status and test flight insights to certification timelines and program strategy, you won’t want to miss this one. Catch up with the interview with the link above!

✈️ VERTICAL AEROSPACE COMPLETES FIRST PILOTED AIRPORT-TO-AIRPORT eVTOL FLIGHT

Vertical Aerospace has achieved a major industry milestone by completing the world’s first piloted airport-to-airport flight with a full-scale eVTOL aircraft. Their VX4 prototype flew 17 miles from Cotswold Airport to RAF Fairford at 1,800 feet and 115 mph—marking the first time an electric aircraft has integrated into active airspace between two operational airports. The aircraft was on public display at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), becoming the first eVTOL showcased at the world’s largest military airshow.

Following the historic arrival, Vertical successfully completed a return flight back to Cotswold, proving not just one-way performance, but round-trip viability under real-world airport conditions. Piloted by chief test pilot Simon Davies, the event signals growing maturity for the VX4 program as it moves closer to certification, and further validates Vertical’s push into hybrid-electric platforms targeting long-range commercial and defense applications.

🛫 Honeywell’s Aerospace Pulse — A Solid Quarter With Eyes on the Sky

Honeywell ($HON) remains one of the most influential aerospace technology giants with a deep footprint across avionics, flight control systems, propulsion, and energy management solutions. Within the emerging Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and eVTOL sector, Honeywell is a quiet but powerful force—supplying critical systems to several Tier 1 manufacturers including Vertical Aerospace, Lilium, and Archer Aviation. While their name doesn’t always lead headlines, their technologies power the backbone of many eVTOL programs around the world.

📊 Q2 2025 Earnings – Key Takeaways

  • Revenue: $10.35 billion (↑8% YoY), organic growth +5%

  • Adjusted EPS: $2.75 (↑9% YoY), beating guidance

  • Aerospace Technologies: +6% organic; Defense & Space +13%, Commercial Aftermarket +7%

  • Industrial Automation: Flat, with weakness in Europe

  • Backlog: +16% YoY

  • Raised full-year guidance:

    • Revenue: $40.8–$41.3 billion (↑ from $39.6B–$40.5B)

    • EPS: $10.45–$10.65

    • Segment margin: 23.0–23.2%

    • Free Cash Flow: $5.4–$5.8 billion (unchanged)

✈️ What It Means for eVTOL and AAM Investors

Honeywell is not just a legacy aerospace player—it’s a critical enabler of the next-generation flight ecosystem. With eVTOL manufacturers increasingly relying on certified and modular avionics, propulsion systems, and automation platforms, Honeywell’s performance in the Aerospace segment is a strong signal for the wider AAM market. Although no specific eVTOL partners were mentioned in this quarter’s call, the strong aftermarket demand and defense engagement reinforce their strategic positioning. As certification efforts intensify into 2026, Honeywell’s continued momentum will be a key force supporting the infrastructure beneath the eVTOL revolution.

⏱️ 24+ Hour Flight? We’re Digging Deeper

🚨 As shared on our last LIVE show, $JOBY’s JAI 30 UAV completed a 9-hour hydrogen-powered autonomous flight — a major breakthrough in endurance and emissions-free aviation. Now, Hunterbrook reports the aircraft may have gone even further, potentially reaching 24+ hours in a more recent test. While this hasn’t been officially confirmed, we’re actively digging into the details and reaching out to sources. If validated, this could mark a new record for hydrogen-electric UAVs.
📅 Stay tuned — we’ll bring you a full update on next week’s show.

🛡️ Archer Signals Defence Shift Ahead of Earnings

Archer CEO Adam Goldstein has hinted at a potential pivot in strategy, suggesting the company may focus more heavily on defence applications over civil aviation in the near future. With partnerships already in place with Anduril and Palantir, and a USAF contract for 10 aircraft on the table, this signals a deepening commitment to military-grade capabilities and autonomous mission systems. As anticipation builds, eyes are also on what could be the first piloted transition flight of Archer’s new VTOL aircraft – a key milestone that may finally be revealed.
